A retired RAF pilot begins selling computer equipment from the kitchen table of their smallholding – Blaenachddu Farm. The fledgling business is subsequently named Blaenachddu Computer Centre.
A new showroom and workshop was created out of a converted barn. Blaenachddu Computer Centre also started targeting businesses instead of consumers. This has remained BCC IT’s main customer base since then.
Blaenachddu Computer Centre won a large contract to supply, configure and set up the Dyfed Powys Police headquarters control room in Carmarthen. Establishing a local presence for the company.
Due to a management buy-in, three new Directors were appointed. With this, the company rebrands to BCC IT Solutions and the business strategy evolves. Paving the way for the modern BCC IT.
Exclusive premises are secured. Including technical workshops and helpdesk facilities.
BCC IT adopts a data centre presence allowing the company to provide a selection of hosted services.
The size of the premises is doubled. This allows additional space for the workshop, infrastructure facility and service desk.
BCC IT reaches 20 members of staff, doubling the size from 2010. The company undertakes a major rebrand and drops “Solutions” from the company name.
BCC IT secures a partnership with Sophos, a key player in the cybersecurity sector, uplifting BCC IT’s position in the industry and allowing them to tackle the new cybersecurity landscape.
Achieves ISO 27001 accreditation to align BCC IT’s processes with industry-standard practices.
Awarded Storagecraft’s EMEA hardware partner of the year due to investment into backup and disaster recovery offerings.
BCC IT employes 36 members of staff and remains proudly located in Carmarthenshire, West Wales. Business growth continues to be driven by the “referral and reputation” model which has proved so successful over the years.
