Empowering Communities

Catalysts for Care

At BCC IT we are genuinely passionate about working closely with our partners to give something back and help to make a real difference in our communities when we can. One of the projects we are pleased to support is the “Catalysts for Care” project delivered by Planed. The Catalysts for Care project is available in Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion and supports carers in the community who may have retired or left other providers to set up their own small, independent care and support services, known as ‘micro-enterprises’.

Empowering Communities through Micro-Enterprise in 2024

The “Catalysts for Care” micro-enterprise programme for 2024 aims to transform lives by fostering small-scale businesses and provide people with more choice and wider access to local personal care and support services that can meet their individual needs. The programme has the potential to create a ripple effect of positive change, offering services such as befriending, home help,

By providing the necessary tools, resources, and support to empower individuals, the programme seeks to nurture entrepreneurial spirit and create opportunities for those who might otherwise be overlooked.

Successful micro-enterprises provide essential services and can provide jobs and stimulate local economies, however one of the significant barriers to starting a business is access to capital. The programme addresses this by providing micro-loans and grants to its participants, enabling them to kickstart start their business and contribute to the overall development of their communities.

How BCC IT Help – Real Stories, Real Change

BCC IT help this programme by providing refurbished equipment to micro-enterprises who really need them and for whom it can make a big difference as shared by some of the recipients in their uplifting testimonials.

Sarrans Home Care

Testimonial from Sarran’s a recent recipient of a refurbished PC

“I’ve literally just got home from work, and it feels like Christmas has come early. I can’t express how truly grateful I am for the kind donation of a PC. “This really is going to help me immensely, in the running of Sarrans home care. All aspects of admin are going to be so much easier and less stressful, now I don’t have to try and do it all on a small tablet or my phone. Leaving me to be able focus more on the hands on side of supporting all my wonderful clients with respite care, dementia/Alzheimer’s, etc.

Huge huge thank you to all involved in this amazing life changing donation. Merry Christmas” Sarran Hughes – ‘Sarrans home care’

Rest Easy Care and Domestic Support

Lindsay’s new PC  provides a more ideal workspace

“Having the computer donated to the business has made a huge difference to me. I now have my own workspace to process invoices, do any online training and reply to enquiries. Before this I was sharing the family laptop which was far from ideal!”
