Sponsorship Spotlight Chloe’s Baton Twirling Journey to the European Majorette Championships This article introduces our brand-new sponsorship spotlight series. At BCC IT, we are proud to support talented and inspiring individuals within our local community who are achieving remarkable goals. Through our sponsorship programme, we believe in giving something back and playing a small part in helping these inspiring individuals to reach their full potential. This article is the first in a series, where we will share the incredible stories of those we sponsor. These stories often reflect the power of dedication, resilience, and community support. We are thrilled to start the series by highlighting the journey of Chloe Brettle, a young majorette from Carmarthenshire, whose determination and achievements are inspirational to us all. At just eleven years of age, Chloe has represented Wales in prestigious majorette championships, despite overcoming significant challenges along the way. A Rising Star in Majorettes Majorettes, a unique blend of baton twirling, dance and gymnastics, is a highly competitive sport that demands precision, creativity, and athleticism. Chloe is one of twelve youngsters from Carmarthenshire who form the juvenile Team Wales, a group of talented majorettes aged between just seven and twelve. In 2023, Chloe and her team achieved a remarkable bronze medal for Wales in the National Baton Twirling Association European Majorettes Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and the team have been nominated in the 2025 Actif Carmarthenshire Sports Awards for ‘Young Team of the Year’ which is being held on 25 February. Individually, Chloe placed an impressive seventh place in her solo performance – an incredible accomplishment after just one year of dedicated training. Overcoming Adversity: A Story of Resilience Chloe’s extraordinary achievements did not stop there. We were thrilled to learn that she had been selected to represent Wales again at the 2024 European Cup in Croatia, and the NBTA Europe Majorettes Championships in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Training an astonishing fifty hours per week, Chloe aimed to be in peak condition to compete. However, just three weeks before the Eindhoven competition, disaster struck. Chloe suffered a heart-wrenching setback after an horrific collarbone break sustained during a rugby tackle at school. The injury was severe, and the x-ray revealed a fracture that would leave her unable to train, after doctors issued Chloe strict orders to rest. For the young athlete, this was devastating, yet despite the setback, Chloe’s determination shone through. Adapting her solo routine to accommodate her injury, Chloe travelled to Eindhoven and delivered a performance that earned her 10th place in Europe – A remarkable achievement under the circumstances. Chloe’s journey continues into 2025, and she has once again been selected to represent Team Wales, competing in this year’s European Cup – part of the World Championships in Turin, Italy in August, followed by the European Championships in Croatia in October. The Power of Sponsorship Without the crucial support of sponsors to cover expenses such as training, travel, accommodation, outfits, and competition fees, young athletes like Chloe would be unable to pursue their dreams of representing Wales at the highest level. The financial backing from sponsors ensures that these talented individuals have access to the opportunities they deserve. Chloe’s story is a shining example, and her determination and hard work have touched and inspired her community. As Chloe prepares for the 2025 competitions, we are proud to have played a part in her journey and look forward to cheering her on as she continues to shine on the European stage. Looking Ahead Chloe’s passion and dedication are inspirational. Her journey is a reminder of the incredible potential that lies within our young athletes and the importance of supporting them along the way. We wish Chloe and Team Wales the very best of luck as they prepare for the upcoming competitions.
