This Month at BCC: May 2024

Author: Tomos Charles

Happy Friday everyone! We hope you’re all enjoying this late afternoon sun just as we are and looking forward to the first month of summer as we end May and spring. This month has been interesting in BCC IT where we’ve carried on the temporary rebrand to BCC DIY, welcomed back our General Manager, Planning a fundraising event and some of us have gotten the chance to have some nice rest. Keep reading to learn all the details about how it’s been this month in BCC IT.

Last month we told you all about our temporary rebrand to BCC DIY as we’ve been building a fence outside. That rebrand has continued as we’ve now been painting the container outside as well. Jeremy has helmed this project with Josh one of our workshop employees and with a bit of help from me when I’m not busy. The container has gone from a pale yellow to a nice olive colour with it now blending a lot more into the background and looking a lot more pleasing to the eyes. We’ve also had a new door installed and a pathway with a roof to get there. Or a new smoking area as all the smokers and vapers here are calling it. We’re very happy with the progress that’s been made on the container and we’d like to thank both Barry Evans Metalworks and Grev’s Property Maintenance for putting the door in and building the roof to the container respectively.  We will make sure to keep you all updated on the progress of this project and show you the finished project hopefully in next month’s “This month in BCC”

Also this month we bid a welcome back to our General Manager Leon. Leon Has been away for a while due to medical reasons and an operation. We’re all happy to see Leon doing better and recovering. I think I can speak for all of us when I say we were all surprised at how fast his recovery was. As soon as he got out of the operating room he was ready to get back to work. We’re all very happy to see him back in the office soon though and a few of us in the office made an effort to go through his office cleaning and polishing his desk and cupboards and when he does come back into the office we’ll make sure to welcome him back with a lovely cup of tea.

At BCC IT we are extremely proud to be working with many charities, providing them with a range of IT, telephony and other such support services.  These charities all provide valuable services to their local communities, and often the wider population in general. We would like to do our bit to provide a little bit back, we are therefore excited to announce a sponsored walk on June 30th from Porthgain to Abereiddy and back. We’re all very excited about this and we will be revealing the charity we will be supporting on our X / Twitter account (@BCCIT) through a random draw. Keep an eye out there to see who we will be supporting and to see pictures of us all on the sponsored walk.

To end this month a lot of us have gotten some time to rest. Some of us have had a nice trip to France for a company event and some of us have gone off on Holiday or gone on Annual leave. We hope everyone who’s away from the office as an employee or one of our clients is having a great time. Whether you’re spending time at home catching up with the things you need to do or if you’re away in somewhere lavish and wonderful we hope you’re having a great and well-deserved rest.

Thank you for reading and we’ll see you in June!
